Restablecimiento eléctrico en Cuba avanza con lentitud y sigue sin garantizar estabilidad

The restoration of electric service is progressing in several provinces of Cuba with the activation of microsystems in different regions of the country. Although the process has been more complex than expected, progress has been made in Havana, Matanzas, Villa Clara, Holguín, and Camagüey.

Microsystem in Havana

Since the afternoon, the occidente microsystem It began operating in small areas of Centro Habana, Cerro, and San Miguel del Padrón.

This has allowed the service to be restored to 1.5 of the customers in the capital, with a demand of 6.3 MW.

However, the rehabilitation process has required strategic decisions and the use of more complex alternatives, which slows down synchronization with other microsystems.

Progressive restoration in Matanzas

In Matanzas, several microsystems have been activated to ensure electricity to key points.

Among the circuits that already have service are:

  • Guanábana Substation, which supplies the re-pumping of Naranjal and the circuits of Los Molinos and the Faustino Pérez Hospital.
  • Matanzas Substation, which serves the circuit 1410 La Marina and guarantees the operation of the system.
  • Martí Plant, which restored the electricity in the Maternity circuit and the Paseo Martí pumping station.
  • Playa Girón Microsystem, which already benefits part of the population.
