More flights from Europe to this Cuban airport: route opened with Iberojet

Starting this week and for five more months during the summer period, the Spanish airline Iberojet will connect a European capital with flights to this high-demand Cuban airport, located in the center of the island and very close to the Cayo Santa María tourist hub. More details coming right up.

The Abel Santamaría International Airport from Santa Clarain the center of Cuba received this Tuesday the first flight of the season coming from Lisbon, Portugal, marking the beginning of a direct flight route which will remain active for the next five months

The weekly frequency, operated by Ávoris/Iberojet, seeks to establish itself as a strategic bridge between Portugal and the Northern Cayería of Villa Claraespecially Santa Maria Key, one of the most relevant tourist hubs of Cuba and where Spanish chains like Meliá or Iberostar have numerous hotels everything included

According to Dayamí Armenteros Rule, delegate of Ministry of Tourism in Villa Clara, 80% of the 371 passengers on the inaugural flight will be transferred directly to hotels in Santa Maria Key, while the rest will combine their stay with nature excursions y city tourism.

For its part, Lester Roberto Bello, general director of the Santa Clara Airport Basic Business Unit, announced that starting in June it will be reactivated Madrid-Santa Clara air route, operational until the end of September, further strengthening the connections with Europe especially with the Iberian Peninsula

This route from Madrid to Santa Clara opening next June will also be operated with Iberojet planes.

Santa Clara Airport, considered the third in importance in Cuba, hosts operations for about ten international airlines, including some companies of Spain, Panama, like Copa Airlines Canada with Sunwing or Air Canada y United States, with airlines like American Airlines or Havanatur charters.
