They distribute a free package with sardines, sugar, and pastries in Cuban bodegas

Cuba began distributing a free food package in February with products from "friendly nations," in several warehouses in the capital at least, according to local media.

The free distribution of food for February began this week in Havana, benefiting pregnant women, children, and people over 65 years old, according to the independent media. 14ymedio.

The delivery, upon presentation of the identity card, includes products donated by various "friendly nations" such as Venezuela, Brazil, or Turkey.

On this occasion, the food combo consists of a package of 500 grams of spaghetti from Turkey, one kilogram of sugar from Brazil y a can of sardines in oil from Venezuela.

The amount distributed varies according to the number of members in the so-called "family units" and is adjusted to the number of people living in a household.

From July 2021, Cuba has implemented the regular delivery of these aid modules, which contain essential imported products. Occasionally, cooking oil has been included, as well as grains such as peas or cereals like rice, which are also currently in short supply.

The delivery of These foods remain a necessity in the face of the economic crisis and the shortage of basic products on the island, which keeps the population on alert about the availability of supplies in the coming months.

Free food module in warehouses of Havana

Every month, free food packages are distributed in Havana’s bodegas to certain vulnerable groups, such as minors and pregnant women, according to the Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN). At the end of 2024, the capital’s press reported on these priority distributions, unlike the rest of the island, where very little or nothing reaches the bodegas.

At the end of last year, children aged 0 to 13 received, according to official sources, 1 kilogram of rice, 1 can of sardines, and 1 package of pasta; pregnant women benefited from 1 kilogram of rice, 1 can of sardines, and 1 kilogram of sugar, and adults who turned 65 years old were given 1 kilogram of rice and 1 package of pasta. Children aged 0 to 7 also received 1 kilogram of sugar.

  1. I would like someone to tell me how the free distribution by warehouses was and if it was by nucleus composition because here in Arroyo Naranjo, Modern Parceling, Electric Distribution, they gave it by nucleus composition. Can someone give me that answer?

  2. Only Havana has rights, don’t lie anymore about the people’s food. Many elderly people are dying from all the needs in Cuba, hunger, no electricity, mainly in the eastern province of the country.

  3. A cousin of mine used to say it, and it's even more true!!!! that Havana is Havana and the rest are just green areas?
Always in the capital everything and for the rest of the country what????

  4. Those donations are fine, but all people, all age groups need them, because it's always Havana, aren't we all Cubans, with serious needs for the most basic things for a human being. Those who have to think, think; it's not about donating, it's about producing food, about finding ways to increase production in all sectors; a people cannot be sustained by beggars from the world, please.

  5. Cuba is just Havana, my God what a nerve, and the other municipalities when is their turn, why don’t I see anything clear, we all have needs, and it’s all lies and more lies, where is the soap for children and those over 65 years old that they have been saying for over a month that they are going to give, if they don’t have to give, don’t publish anything, please, we are tired of so many lies, or do they think we look like clowns?

    • That thing about every month is a lie because the last free module they gave was in November. Hopefully, the one they are announcing is true and they give it.

  6. Good afternoon, I need you to tell me if the module arrived complete or why the warehouse worker at the warehouse located in Guanabacoa Reparto Azotea told a neighbor that there were no more spaghetti, only sugar. If so, he started giving that yesterday afternoon. How is it possible that if my neighbor went this morning, there was no spaghetti? He did the same with the pound of chicken, telling him it had not arrived complete and that he had to wait for it to be sent again. There have been many complaints about the two warehouse workers at the Azotea warehouse, and it's in vain since the complaints have been given to the council delegate, and no measures have been taken with either warehouse worker.

    • The modules come with the products, but if the elf takes them, someone has to take action or they are in collusion. Look, there are fewer and fewer of us, and more are missing; now we are 9,700,000, and where did the quota of 1,300,000 go that is flying to other skies because the situation is unsustainable.

  7. What excitement, it's always Havana, to silence the people from Havana and the other provinces, may they be struck by lightning and eat soy picadillo, such disrespect they are. Surely they take the donations meant for hotels to give to the party and government members and for whatever meeting they feel like holding. How sad for the elderly who don't have bread for breakfast while they are stuffing themselves like it's the right thing to do.

  8. And the thing is, people from the Eastern provinces don’t need to eat, how long are they going to keep excluding us, are we or aren’t we from this country, there are also vulnerable people here, children and others, look, they have given out free packages, and for us marginalized people, what?

  9. And why is it always in Havana that people from the Eastern provinces don’t need to eat, until when will that division last, are we or are we not from the same country?

  10. I have some concerns. In December, they were supposed to give chicken to children and to those over 65 at least in Arroyo Naranjo, but they didn't.

  11. I don't understand why the truth isn't told. I am 67 years old and the only thing they gave was a package of spaghetti, at least in Boyeros. Last year they distributed a kilo of white sugar to all the stores except the Boyeros and Calabazar Councils, which never received it. The same goes for the 160-peso rice, nothing is known about that.

  12. From the December donation at a market in the Depeche neighborhood in Guanabacoa, the rice that was supposedly for the children still hasn't arrived.

  14. How long are they going to keep lying when here in Güira de Melena it has been 2 months already without giving anything, nothing at all, because is it then because we live in the countryside and what is there now at this moment in the countryside? NOTHING because there isn’t even rice, they should be ashamed and remove all the leaders in this country because I assure you that all of them have food by the sacks and their children and grandchildren lack nothing, unlike now when the children don’t even have milk to drink, and please, let them finish handing over the mandate to see if we can fix things or if we end up dying.

  15. I don't know how the distribution of the module is being carried out, I only know that I live in Guanabacoa in Villa Maria and only sugar and pasta come in, and a small amount, almost no one got any, so I ask if you have to fight in the storehouse if the things don't come in complete, I don't know the design, we are giving to everyone, if not, up to what is available, and there are dead and injured in the place because of what they give.

  16. I want to know how much is given per nucleus, for example 1 to 2, and so on, because there are many doubts since apparently in some places it is not being distributed as it should be. I ask you to tell me and clear up this doubt, thank you.

  17. That will be in Havana because in Las Tunas nothing of that is seen, and even less for children or anything because they are dying of hunger and that’s how they go to school and see how the teachers come out loaded with bread and yogurt without shame.

  18. And the other people who are not that age??? Should they die??? And the other provinces??? because in mine they haven't given anything. Everything little they give is in Havana. Better to erase us from the map.

  19. Well, everything is very good now I ask you, and the other population from 14 to 64 years old, what do we do to catch our breath? It seems to me that we exist, and there are retirees who only earn 1500, which is not enough for anything.

To all the ambassadors of those countries, I GIVE THANKS along with the entire people.
Cubans will never forget that gesture.

  21. My question is, when will it be Villa Clara's turn, the most aged province in Cuba with a high number of retirees with low incomes where logically those over 65 years old should be included? Who will give me the answer? It's not that I don't care about sick children and pregnant women, but I empathize with the large number of elderly people, thank you.

  22. Good afternoon, I see that in Havana they deliver a module for those over 65 years old, something very positive, but why don't they give anything to those elderly people on the island, only laundry soap?

    Reply
  23. Well, that's fine, but what about those of us who are 63 years old and live alone? What do we do? Because practically nothing fits in the basket, and not all of us can afford the prices from private stores and some state stores that seem to be competing with the private ones or the famous micro, small, and medium enterprises. This is really tough. Only children, pregnant women, and those over 65 can; the rest, you know.

  24. Good afternoon to all, those modules will only be for Havana because I live in the municipality of Fomento, province of Sancti Spiritus, and here they haven't given anything. Apparently, everything is for Havana and the other provinces get nothing.

It is a lack of respect because the salaries are not enough, they don’t give you anything for the basic basket; my daughters are 15 and 16 years old, my mother is sick at 58 years old, and at those ages they don’t give anything, apparently they don’t exist. Every day this is getting worse and there is no one at the top who thinks properly and reorganizes the distribution.

  27. Everything is very good, but why is a module not delivered at some point for children from 14 to 18 years old? Because there are still minors and they also need them. Besides, those modules never arrive as established; there are always delays and excuses.

  42. It is very good that a free food module is delivered to children, pregnant women, and the elderly. What I do not agree with is that it is only in one territory. Knowing that in this country the food shortage is what is hitting the people the most. I have a 7-year-old child who has not received any type of meat at the butcher shop to feed him. Most of the time, you have to buy products at high prices to survive. It is even difficult to withdraw money for basic food consumption because most sellers do not accept transfers. In Guantánamo, we are already in February and the grocery store has not even received sugar yet. For my child to take a snack to school, we have to buy artificial sodas with harmful products so that the children can have a snack and continue going to school.

  44. These modules are only received in Havana. It's as if those in the provinces have no shortages of anything.
    Very poor distribution.
It is very necessary that they also remember the families from the provinces who are having an even harder time. That is not fair.

to continue living off ANTICOMMUNIST propaganda
to denigrate Cuba and justify the criminal financial blockade imposed by the United States Government that it has maintained for 65 years.
