Fallece Pablo Milanés, uno de los grandes mitos de la música iberoamericana

Pablo Milanés, uno de los referentes indiscutibles de la música cubana e iberoamericana, falleció este lunes a los 79 años de edad en un hospital de la capital española.

Así lo dieron a conocer primero sus familiares y allegados, y tiempo después lo confirmaban sendos comunicados oficiales de prensa.

«Con gran dolor y tristeza, lamentamos informar que el maestro Pablo Milanés ha fallecido esta madrugada del 22 de noviembre en Madrid», indicó el mensaje firmado por su agencia artística.

«Que descanse en el amor y en la paz que siempre ha transmitido. Permanecerá eternamente en nuestra memoria», continuaba la nota.

Fundador de la Nueva Trova Cubana, Pablo es sin dudas uno de los representantes más prestigiosos de la canción iberoamericana con otros imprescindibles como Silvio Rodríguez, Joan Manuel Serrat, Luis Eduardo Aute y Joaquín Sabina. Y fue reconocido por todos ellos como el gran exponente de la trova cubana.

A native of Granma, he was born in Bayamo on February 24, 1943, from where he began his artistic career as an amateur on the radio.

In the 1950s, his family moved to Havana, where he was able to meet popular artists and traditional Cuban music groups, and began his studies at the Municipal Conservatory of the capital.

In addition to Cuban influences from the founders of filin, or popular music, it had a powerful influence from Caribbean, North American, and Brazilian rhythms.
