¿Cómo debe ser el documento de PCR negativo para viajar Panamá u otros países, y dónde hacértelo en Cuba?

Flights of Cubans abroad continue to increase despite the uncertainties and logical fears of those who, although they longed for the opening of the borders, now understand that the current situation presents new challenges and obstacles to consider.

Strict health controls characterize transit through Cuban airports and those of other countries, special requirements have been imposed, and even health fees for those entering Cuba from abroad. All this not to mention the limited availability of airline tickets or the high prices of United States dollars in Cuba.

Panama, like some other nations, requires travelers arriving from abroad to carry a negative PCR test with a validity of no more than 48 hours. To guarantee this service, the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba (MINSAP) has set up some health points where the test can be requested.

Every national, resident, or foreign person intending to enter the national territory must present upon arrival in the country a Negative Swab/PCR or antigen Test Certificate, with a maximum of 48 hours," the National Migration Service of Panama, SNM, has reiterated on several occasions.

But do you know which centers are those where travelers who plan to fly to Panama (or other countries that require it) can take the PCR test? Basically, there are 4 places in the country where it is currently possible to meet this requirement, according to the sales office of COPA Airlines in the Miramar Business Center.

Some readers of Cuban Directory nos han escrito manifestando inquietudes respecto a la validez o no del documento que certifica la prueba de PCR que se realiza en Cuba. Según nuestras indagaciones, y basándonos en las experiencias de algunos viajeros que ahora mismo se encuentran ya en Panamá, los documentos que aporta el MINSAP son completamente consistentes con las actuales exigencias del gobierno panameño.

No obstante, según advierten algunos viajeros cubanos, en el aeropuerto serán muy rigurosos en cuanto a la vigencia (máximo de 48 horas) del resultado de la prueba. Es importante además la claridad del documento que se aporte indicando el resultado negativo: “El nombre no debe tener errores, y debe coincidir exactamente con el del pasaporte. A una amiga le cambiaron una “y” de su nombre por una “i”, y las autoridades sanitarias no le aceptaron el documento, aseguró una viajera”.

Otros refieren igualmente que es importante que el documento no llegue deteriorado al aeropuerto de Panamá y que además esté impreso, aduciendo que las autoridades panameñas no aceptarán ningún documento del MINSAP que sea manuscrito, aún cuando disponga el mismo de todos los cuños y firmas pertinentes.

Aquí le dejamos uno de esos documentos que certifican el resultado negativo de la prueba PCR de un viajero cubano, aunque no podemos afirmar de manera terminante que este sea el modelo oficial (o que exista un modelo oficial). Si a usted le entregaran un documento con diferencias en su formato ello no quiere decir que esté necesariamente mal, solo asegúrese de que muestra cada uno de los datos siguientes de manera clara.

Reiteramos a continuación los requisitos que actualmente exige el Servicio Nacional de Migración para ingresar a Panamá. Le aconsejamos seguir todas las medidas de sanidad a fin de evitar inconvenientes y recargos adicionales en su viaje de compras.
