Just on the same day that Cuban President Miguel Díaz Canel just arrived in Mexico City and was received by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the diplomatic mission of the United States of Mexico in Cuba just published, as usual, the details that through their Mexitel system guarantee access to appointments to apply for a visa to that North American country.
This time the embassy will enable its granting system to the 9 in the morning of the next Friday, October 18 from 2019, when it will assign the lucky ones the slots corresponding to the days between the November 18 and 29 of the current year
As always, it is made clear that special attention must be paid to the details of the information note since, on this occasion, only requests for document legalization or for applying for a visa with the authorization granted by the National Institute of Migration will be attended to, or what Cuban citizens popularly know as processing. WITH NUT.
The electronic confirmation method called Token has proven to be of little use, which aimed to "strengthen security in appointment scheduling by interested parties," as stated in the note in question. And month by month, the dissatisfaction of those interested grows, as they see obtaining an appointment as an impossible mission and are compelled to pay abusive prices to third parties and intermediaries.
The collection of those illegal and reprehensible favors now amounts to 1600 CUC, so the situation is deemed unsustainable.
Many interested parties have publicly expressed their discontent, and some have even collected signatures to request greater transparency and affordability from the Mexican embassy accredited in Cuba. You can leave your signature through the following link.
As usual, the Mexican embassy clarifies that simply having the date and time to attend the appointment does not guarantee the proper scheduling of an appointment if the confirmation requirements provided by the Token system have not been successfully entered.
Despite this, the embassy seems unaware of the complainants' negative feedback, as in its latest note it once again emphasizes the need for understanding from those who are unable to schedule an appointment at the consular office.
I only recommend that before providing the data required by the Mexitel system, access to the email used previously for registration on the portal should be available. And that a thorough review is conducted to ensure that all the information provided at that exact moment matches what is listed in the applicant's passport.
Directorio Cubano will promptly inform its large community of followers about the details and signals of the opening time of the Mexitel system for scheduling appointments without the authorization of the National Institute of Migration (NO NUT)
As the embassy committed, this must happen before the 23rd of this October. Therefore, we recommend that you check our portal regularly.
In the same way, we will provide any relevant information on immigration or commercial matters that arise from the current visit of the Cuban presidential delegation to Mexican territory, where both leaders will discuss topics of special sensitivity for both peoples, and very likely about issues related to travel or migration flows between Central America and the United States.
