The Varadero spa, in Matanzas, hosted the inauguration of a new Cuban luxury hotel with more than 500 rooms. It is the Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort, 15 minutes from Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport. According to Sergio Álvarez, commercial director of Archipiélago International for the Americas, the hotel is focused on the teenage market segment. Therefore, it aims to receive guests from 11 years old.
Additionally, with this new hotel, the Aston brand adds a total of 3,500 rooms under its management in Cuba. These are divided among the tourist hubs of Cayo Las Brujas, Havana, Cayo Paredón, and Guardalavaca.
Meanwhile, the Grand Aston Varadero is attributed with five restaurants dedicated to Nikkei, Venetian, signature cuisine, barbecue, bio-buffet, and Cuban gastronomy.
But, in addition to this, it also has several cafés and bar service. On the other hand, its relaxation offerings include the Ubud spa, with revitalizing treatments carried out by expert professionals.

Lo cierto es que, en un contexto marcado por la crisis de servicios básicos en Cuba, el país no ha detenido la construcción de obras turísticas.
Por ejemplo, otro hotel de lujo, el resort Meliá Trinidad Península, fue inaugurado en la península de Ancón, en Trinidad, Sancti Spíritus.
La instalación se describe como un alojamiento en primera línea de playa, con 401 habitaciones. Posee hermosísimas vistas a la Sierra del Escambray y se ubica a tan solo 15 minutos del centro histórico de Trinidad. Precisamente, su localización en esta ciudad colonial resulta uno de los mayores atractivos con los que cuenta.
Pero, hay que tener en consideración que, todas estas inauguraciones de hoteles están ocurriendo durante el período del alta turística en Cuba.
Resulta más que evidente el interés del país en invertir en instalaciones hoteleras a pesar de la actual situación que vive hoy la Isla.
