Havana will suffer blackouts this Sunday: these are the affected circuits and schedules

As reported by the Empresa Eléctrica de La Habana on its official Facebook profile, it will be necessary to affect customers in the capital this Sunday.

"Taking into account the generation deficit in the National Electroenergetic System it is necessary to affect customers in the capital city in the following schedule."

• Blocks #3 and #4 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• From 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm block #2 will be affected.
• At 3:30 pm it will rotate to block #1 which will be affected until 6:00 pm.

They also clarify that outages may also occur in blocks not associated with the outage planning.

The company's Telegram, X and Facebook accounts remain active with accurate information, as well as 18888 for direct communication with Call Center operators.

Malfunction at Tallapiedra substation

As a result of a breakdown in the Tallapiedra substation, electric service was affected in different areas of the following municipalities: Habana Vieja, Centro Habana, Plaza, Cerro, Diez de Octubre. The overall effect was 40Mw.

At approximately 12:35 AM, local time, power service was restored in the 20 circuits affected in the capital city as a result of this failure at the Tallapiedra substation. However, work continues at the site.
