Russian government authorities approved this week a measure that will allow banks and foreign brokers from about 30 countries, including Cuba, Brazil, and Venezuela, to participate in Russia's foreign exchange and derivatives market, according to a decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Media Cubans assure that this measure "seeks to expand opportunities for economic and financial cooperation between Russia and other countries, as well as diversify sources of external financing for the Russian economy," which is currently going through a tough period, following the invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions from the U.S. and the European Union (EU).

  1. We know there is no money, but it's not the same to buy something from Russia as to buy it from someone else even if you have to pay for it, because every time we pay for something it costs us three times more, that without counting that we pay in rubles and not in dollars (because we are not allowed to buy in dollars, we have to exchange them for euros and that is also more expensive, so in the long run I think there will be benefits. The issue lies in the utilization and good planning, and in the diversion of resources. It's like a wide hose full of holes; the water pressure is there at the outlet, but when the water reaches its destination, it no longer has pressure (too many holes in the hose) haha we'll see what happens.

  2. That would be good overall if we had money, but I believe, if I am not mistaken, that it is a currency market and if you don't have money, it's the same as nothing, which is the big problem in Cuba, that there is no money, the blockade is that there is no money.
