Cuba: Vietnamese donation of 10,000 tons of rice. This is how it will be distributed

This weekend, authorities from the Asian country visiting Cuba delivered a donation of 10,000 tons of Vietnamese rice, while announcing a similar donation in the near future to alleviate the food crisis on the island.

According to press reports, Vietnam's Vice Minister of Finance, Le Tan Can, was the one who delivered to Cuban authorities the donation of 10,000 tons of rice and added that "very soon" the island would receive another "aid" of 1,500 tons of the same food.

At present, containers of the cereal, vital in the diet of Cubans, are unloaded in the Mariel area, more than 40 km from the Cuban capital. How will the product be distributed? Vietnam is the main supplier of rice to Cuba, where this cereal is an essential food and the average consumption exceeds 60 kilograms per person per year.
