Cuban actor Rubén Breña in intensive care at "Ameijeiras" hospital

The director of Cuban Television, Rolando Chiong, reported on his Facebook profile that the veteran and well-liked Cuban actor Rubén Breña was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Havana hospital "Hermanos Ameijeiras" with a stomach bleeding that has not been controlled due to a lack of medication.

According to his post on the mentioned social network: "Incredible, but true: Rubén Breña is in the intensive care unit of Ameijeiras, he needs Omeprazole and vitamin K (not orally) and there is none. Damn it!". Immediately, dozens of TV acquaintances expressed their solidarity and also said they would pay whatever it takes to help Breña.

Chiong added que el omeprazol debía ser en inyecciones por el sangramiento estomacal. Breña se encontraba por estos días grabando la nueva telenovela cubana “El derecho de soñar” que está dedicada a la radio y hace un homenaje a la radionovela “El derecho de nacer”.

Breña, natural de Pinar del Río, ha trabajado en decenas de espacios televisivos como las telenovelas “Tierra Brava”, “Cuando el agua regresa a la tierra” o “Salir de noche”, entre muchas otras. También lo hizo en filmes como “Amor Vertical” o “Guantanamera”.
