Reinician envíos de paquetería y correos desde Dominicana a Cuba

The Dominican Postal Institute (INPOSDOM) reported that starting this very month of May, commercial relations with Cuba Post will be resumed and, therefore, the sending of mail and packages between both nations will be reactivated. According to this Dominican entity, the service had been suspended due to the pandemic and other logistical reasons. 

According to several reports from the local press, Erick Guzmán, general director of INPOSDOM, 

He was the one who confirmed this "good news" for the shipment of packages between both neighboring islands. Guzmán detailed that resuming this project is part of a plan of his administration to "strengthen postal services.

The agreement seeks to connect our communities through international postal service. This step in the normalization once again of our postal relations with Cuba is due to a hard effort to reconnect with an airline that could ensure the best prices for our users," added the Dominican official. 

¿CÓMO MANDAR PAQUETES DE DOMINICANA A CUBA?

Según la entidad de Correos quisqueyana, INPOSDOM, con esta re-conexión con Cuba están cumpliendo una vieja demanda que no solo busca conectar mejor a los residentes de ambos países, sino convocar a empresarios o inversores que quieran realizar negocios de paquetería desde Dominicana a Cuba o viceversa.

“INPOSDOM ha venido trabajando de forma ardua para garantizar que los envíos hacia Cuba desde la República Dominicana sean seguros, eficientes y confiables, coordinado por los socios cubanos para establecer los protocolos necesarios, cumpliendo con los requisitos de seguridad y aduanales de ambos países”, added the official 

He indicated that this will be a highly demanded service from both countries and comes to fill a gap in the Dominican postal company, as well as another option for commercial exchange. At a time when Cuban families in the United States choose Punta Cana as a meeting point for family gatherings with their relatives on the island.

Additionally, the Dominican Republic has a considerable community of Cuban residents there. According to official data, in 2020, more than 3,000 Cubans were living in that neighboring country.
