Llegan más médicos cubanos a las ciudades italianas de Catanzaro, Cosenza y Crotone

Amid the health crisis affecting medical services in Cuba and the loss of more than 10 thousand doctors in a single year, the Italian cities of Catanzaro, Cosenza, and Crotone, in the Calabria Region, have received the new doctors.

The National Association of Italy-Cuba Friendship (ANAIC) in Catanzaro is enthusiastically welcoming 23 Cuban doctors who will join the medical teams in the hospitals of the Provincial Health Institution of Catanzaro.

These doctors, with extensive experience, will work in crucial areas such as Emergency, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Cardiology, Radiology, and Orthopedics and Traumatology.

“Their commitment and experience, already demonstrated during the pandemic in our region, will be of great benefit to our Regional Health Service and the population in general. Once again, Cuba and its people show us how to practice solidarity among nations in difficult times,” the association stated.

In Cosenza, the association also expresses its gratitude and support to the Cuban doctors assigned to the Province. Of the 121 medical professionals who arrived in Calabria from Cuba, 59 will be assigned to the province of Cosenza.
