The Metropolitan Bank of Havana informs its clients about changes in cash operation services, starting April 1st.
Below is the message they have disseminated through their official channels:
ATTENTION!
All Banco Metropolitano customers are informed that starting April 1, 2025, printed copies of receipts will no longer be provided for cash transactions.
Corporate Banking clients will be able to review and reconcile their transactions with the bank through their account statements or their inquiry via the METROPOLITANO EN LÍNEA service.
Natural customers can also verify their transactions through the digital platforms Transfermóvil or EnZona and at ATMs.
This measure is due to the increasing use of new technologies as a means of verification.

BANK METROPOLITANO ALERT
In the past few hours, the capital bank issued a warning about new scams and identity theft cases. "For days, an individual has been impersonating the administrators of Transfermóvil, Enzona, and the banks, contacting private clients who need assistance." warned.
This person's modus operandi is to pose as a trusted account within groups and channels, using the official logo image and usernames like "ayudatm" or "ayudaenzona." In this way, they build trust among clients, making them believe they are interacting with a legitimate source.
Additionally, it has its own group, allowing it to continue operating and attract victims independently. Despite being repeatedly expelled from groups and channels, from Cuban banks, it managed to evade restrictions by changing its username and rejoining to continue its fraudulent activity.
So inside the bank, they will let you use your phone for these inquiries because after leaving the window where you will file your complaint, it's your word against the ATM transaction, or have they forgotten how many crimes and misdeeds have been committed by the ATMs of the mentioned BM
ETECSA sells cell phones in dollars and it is known that neither workers nor retirees are paid or receive dollars. That measure is absurd. Please, get real and don't make things up anymore.
That measure is crazy. There are people who don't have money to buy a phone.
