Cuba: CIMEX Corporation urges reporting irregularities in its stores

CIMEX S.A. Corporation has reported recent actions related to the detection of irregularities in its establishments.

In a communiqué officially, the entity reiterated that complaints must be made through its official customer service channels for evaluation and possible action.

On February 27, following a report on digital platforms about the sale of products at the Cibeles commercial unit, located in the Plaza de la Revolución municipality, a committee was formed to review the situation. The committee, composed of the CIMEX presidency and the General Management of the Havana East Branch, conducted an investigation to determine the facts and the corresponding responsibilities.

During the inspection, the sale of chicken liver to the same customer and to employees of the establishment was confirmed, as well as the distribution of popular cigarettes to employees, following the administrator's instructions. According to the report, these practices did not comply with the procedures established by the corporation.

After evaluating the results, the management of the Havana East Branch applied disciplinary measures, including the definitive separation of the administrator, a cashier-employee, and another involved worker.

On social media, some citizens commented on the case. Sandalio García stated: "Institutions must have their control mechanisms in a systematic way. And not rely on whether the population reports to act." Other comments highlighted the importance of strengthening internal controls in businesses.

CIMEX reiterated the importance of using its official channels to report any irregularities and emphasized the need to comply with the regulations established in its establishments.

Customer service, no way… at least in online sales, everything is impossible, it's a lack of respect… they advertise whenever they feel like it, there is no schedule, and they cancel without reasons and do not refund, at least they owe me… when you call the store's phone or email, they never give an effective response, everything is a disaster. I am still waiting for a refund of over 1,000 pesos from a combo on June 18… I hope they take measures. There are many complaints and nobody does anything. Thank you
