In the scenario of the massive blackout affecting Cuba, the Telecommunications Company (Etecsa) reported that it is working tirelessly to guarantee connectivity for the population, while outlining its priorities.
According to "comunicó" se traduce al inglés como "communicated". Etecsa, through its official channels, reports that more than 70% of the generators deployed in the country are operational, which allows maintaining the operation of part of the telecommunications infrastructure. However, in several areas, coverage problems persist when there are prolonged outages of the national electric service.
On digital platforms, many customers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the situation, reporting prolonged outages and difficulties communicating when the National Electric System (SEN) experiences blackouts.
Etecsa users report difficulties with the service
Facebook user Heidy Campos, resident of the Cerro municipality, indicated that her community has been cut off since the SEN was interrupted. "They have no coverage for calls or mobile data. It has been reported for years that every time the power goes out, they are left without communication. This is not a recent issue," she commented.
Other users, like Manuel L. Zabalo Rodríguez, expressed more direct criticism of the company. "The first thing you do is cut off the town's internet so they can't protest or comment on social media. As a company, you are worthless both as providers of an expensive service and in ethics and principles," he wrote.
En la actualidad de apagones constantes en Cuba, Etecsa ha recomendado to customers to change the device setting to "2G ONLY." This will allow them to receive calls and SMS, as well as use Transfermóvil without interruptions, they assure.

Here in Maniabon, PP, the power goes out and the coverage for mobile calls and landline calls automatically drops, it has been reported thousands of times but no one provides a solution to the problem.
